HELPING YOU LIVE A HEALTHY ACTIVE LIFE

Acupuncture is one of the fastest growing and most popular complementary therapies in the West as research is showing it to be helpful for many conditions. Yet, it is one of the most ancient systems of treatment known to man. Its origins in China date back nearly 3000 years.

Individuals may seek acupuncture for many reasons such as aches and pains, physical problems, mental or emotional conditions, chronic and acute illness or as a preventative treatment.

The use of Acupuncture for certain conditions has been validated by the World Health Organisation, The National Health Service (NHS) and other medical organisations. Research carried out on 495 patients at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine found that 90.7% reported improvement from having acupuncture treatment.

It is safe, gentle and effective, using ultra thin needles to activate the body's own healing systems.

As we live longer we need to ensure that we do everything possible to remain healthy and active. Pain and illness sap the joy out of life and, in addition to all the great things that modern medicine can do, we also need to find ways to help ourselves. Remaining active is key and alongside diet and exercise acupuncture can help you to continue to enjoy life to the full.

WHO AM I?

My name is Trisha Farrow. I am an experienced, fully qualified and insured practitioner and am registered with Rutland Council. I work in Uppingham but my clients come from Corby, Oundle, Oakham, Stamford, Desborough, Rothwell, Northamptonshire and Rutland.

For full details of these practices click on the Prices and Location page on the left. My clinic is in Uppingham but are convenient for Oakham and Kettering as well. I offer flexible appointment times and am pleased to offer a free short consultation if you wish to discuss how acupuncture might help you before committing to a course of treatment.

My post graduate studies have focussed on pain related problems and gynaecological/fertility issues. I have trained with Zita West and the great Dr Richard Tan, whose Balance Method is gaining huge attention for the rapid results it achieves with pain. I also practice Master Tung acupuncture and have found these methods to have wonderful results.

WHAT CAN IT HELP?

Acupuncture treats the whole person rather than particular symptoms. You don't have to have a specific complaint, if you feel in any way that your physical or emotional health could be better then you may find acupuncture helpful. However, a list of conditions that the World Health Organisation feels there may be evidence for acupuncture being helpful is on What Can It Help? above.

WANT TO KNOW MORE?

At this point most people are wondering about how acupuncture originated and works, whether it is safe, whether a fear of needles would prevent them having treatment. Please click on the ABOUT ACUPUNCTURE page where I have tried to cover all the questions I am most commonly asked. Or better still call me to discuss it or book a free short consultation at my Uppingham practice.

I am committed to delivering high quality, effective health care in Uppingham. Many of my clients come from Oakham, Kettering, Corby and the surrounding villages.

The continuing one to one relationship between the patient and acupuncturist is something my patients seem to value highly, as do I. I look forward to welcoming you to my practice
